Tuesday Ramblings

Firsts

08-FullSizeRender (7).jpgNot going to lie, this week was a tough one, hence the super short post, but I would like to give a HUGE shout out to the friends and family who quietly supported from the sidelines while I had my numerous mental breakdowns in private.

For anyone who follows this blog, you know that my dad passed away this year, and though this may sound cliche, he was truly larger than life. The stories shared and the ways that friends and family celebrated his life this past week were truly amazing. Not only was it the first Christmas without him, but we also had to mark his first birthday just days before.

There will always be days when the knowledge of loss smacks you in the face , and you find yourself randomly crying at work or in the lineup at Walmart, but it’s the hug from a friend and the shared loss experienced by family that will always be there to comfort you at the end of the day.

I will forever be thankful to the friends and family who helped us pass these first difficult milestones.
